Flight Over, Safely On Board, Made a Mess of the Panoramic Pictures..

Club World the ONLY Way to Fly!!
Our 8 hour flight from Heathrow to Newark passed off without a hitch. Flying business class is definitely the way to go. Luxury lay-flat seats, superb in flight meals and free booze. US immigration and customs were extraordinarily polite and helpful, maybe our last experience in Miami was a one off. Up to this point everything had gone smoothly and then the queuing started...

Altogether it took 4 hours to board the ship, all of this time was spent standing in one queue or another. Not the best start to a holiday. Suffice to say, we were both "mad as hell" by the time we finally reached the Chartroom Lounge.

The ship is scheduled to set sail down the Hudson River at 17:00 passing Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty and other famous New York landmarks. I'm not sure how the panorama camera will cope with lighting conditions at dusk (sundown 16:48) and bright lights from the ship and shoreline. I'll publish the sail-away pictures on this page if I get some of reasonable quality.

If the average weather records are anything to go by, it's likely to be cold and wet with the possibility of high snow falls.
